Program Profiles

The READS program is flexible and can adapted to meet the unique needs of children and families in diverse settings. READS has been implemented through partnerships with school districts, individual schools, and community agencies. READS works best in settings that meet the following characteristics

Setting characteristics:

  • Committed to implementing the program with fidelity
  • Interested in using data to make programmatic decisions

Student characteristics

  • Students in the third and/or fourth grade
  • Students who are fluent in English
  • Students who do not have access to a lot of books at home
